A GUIDE TO WORSHIP SERVICES
Various worship services we have on Sundays include simple, heartfelt, one-hour worship services in the morning, an evening worship service, children’s worship services and other programs.
Morning Worship Services
Simple, heartfelt, 1-hour services are held three times in the Sunday morning:
1. 08:30 - 09:30
2. 10:00 - 11:00
3. 11:30 - 12:30
In each worship service, we sing hymns and listen in a message spoken by a pastor of the day. It is a simple, heartfelt, one-hour worship service. Even if you are new to the worship service, we are sure you will feel at home in the chapel. You are free to attend any worship service in a time zone convenient for you.
Evening Worship Service
An “open” worship service in the Sunday evening is what you might want to come in a relaxed mood.
18:00 - 19:00
We call it the “open” worship service because we wish you would come and join us with no hesitation. Young people form a musical band and play hymns and worship songs. You will enjoy singing to the music they play. The pastor will tell us an easy-to-follow message.
Children’s Worship Services
Children in their age groups have their own worship services.

We at Tsuchiura Megumi Church have been and are eager to ensure that people in all age-groups can attend services in worship styles they prefer. In children’s worship services, too, children can worship in the styles best suited for the age-groups they belong.

Joy Club 11:20―12:30
TEENS Club 11:00－12:30
After the worship is over, we offer children various programs that give them opportunities to realize their own abilities through play and to experience the fun of making friends.

The Bible and Hymns
All the words are projected on the screens. You don’t have to bring your Bible and/or hymns unless you want to.
Offerings
A collection box is placed in the reception hall, and another one is placed near the back wall inside the chapel behind the pews. Once a month or so, an offering may be made during the worship service for a special purpose. But it is not obligatory.

A Worship Scene
The video is for the convenience of visitors and newcomers. The 3-min. video shows the reception in the hall, then the camera moves into the chapel where worship is ongoing.
Flow of Worship Service
The worship service goes on in the following manner:
1. Prelude: Let’s pray in silence while listening to the music.
2. Hymn: Words are projected on the screens on both sides of the altar.
3. Prayer of the Lord: The words of the prayer are projected on the screens. All of us pray aloud the Lord’s Prayer.
4. Message: The pastor gives a message.
5. Doxology: We sing a short song of praise to God.
6. Benediction: The pastor prays a prayer of blessing.
SUNDAY EVENING WORSHIP SERVICE
It is an open worship service you don’t have to hesitate to attend at.
The ordinary open worship service: 18:00 - 19:00
Young people enjoy this evening service, either playing instruments as the member of a musical band or singing to the music played by the band. The words of songs and the phrases of the Bible are projected on the screens set above the altar on both sides, so you can come empty-handed. We usually do not collect offerings during the worship services. If you want to make a contribution, please use the collection boxes in the reception hall and at the back of the chapel.

Special open worship services
We have special open worship services several times a year. In these opportunities, more hymns and worship songs than usual are played and sung. The stage is decorated a little more superbly. Our wish is that each of you would come to meet God and have joy in Him. Some of you may enjoy singing hymns. Some others may quietly surrender to the music. Enjoy this evening in your own style.
CHILDREN’S WORSHIP SERVICES
We at Tsuchiura Megumi Church always strive to ensure that people in all age groups can be filled with joy as they worship God in their own ways. The children, too, can worship in the styles best suited for the age-groups they belong.
Parent-child class (Directed to zero-aged to 2-year-olds)

Place: 1st Floor, Educational building
About ten pairs gather every week. The class is easy for children to follow, and provides opportunities to deepen the parent-child relationship.
Kindergarteners class (Directed to 3- to 5-year-olds who belong to Kinder-garten Mana Aijien)

Place: Room Bethel
About 30 pupils gather every week. They play with vigor, and worship God.
Lower Grader Class (Directed to the 1st to 3rd graders)

Higher Grader Class (Directed to the 4th to 6th graders)

CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS IN TWO AGE GROUPS
After the children’s worship services are over, Tsuchiura Megumi Church offers children’s programs so as to meet the needs of respective age groups. We are careful to their safety so their parents feel at ease when they entrust to put their children in our hands. Through various types of play, we try to find and nurture children’s hidden talents and to have them experience the joy of making friends.
Joy Club (Directed to elementary schoolers)
Timeline: 11:20 - 12:30
Programs:
1) An outdoor play circle
2) An indoor play circle
Places:1st Floor, Educational building; The kindergarten field and a park
The activities of Joy Club are divided into the first period (May to September) and the second period (October to March). For each of these periods, children are asked to choose either one of the outdoor play circle or the indoor play circle. In April, which is the trial month, children can experience both of the two circles.
TEENS Club (Directed to junior and senior high schoolers)
Timeline: 11:00 - 12:00
Programs: Fellowship and activities
Place: Chapel Pisgah
Right after the TEENS worship service, the TEENS club starts activities. The teenagers share the events of their daily lives and the biblical knowledge and interpretations with one another. They are also engaged in various other activities.
